I have been using podcasts on my ipod for running and other exercise programs at home.  It was interesting to see they are used for many other things.  The tv program podcasts woulde be useful at school.

I set up my Rollyo account and read up about.  Can really see myself using it fro school and home.  Have all my links and things I check daily and into categories would be very time saving.

RSS stands for really simple syndication.  I think this will be a wonderful things for me as I like to check lots of blogs and websites daily and this can sometimes take me quite a while. I will add the one here I use that don't have facebook feeds.

I am a regular user of Facebook.. I have the app on my phone so I check it daily.  I use it to catch up with friends and family, track old friends and see what's going on in the world.

Got my Flickr account will have more of a play at home as my photos and videaos are on my home computer.

I enjoyed playing around with this. I would love to catalogue my home collection.. If I ever had free time. Lots of other interesting aspects to look at in Librarything.

I did a lot of the readings but was not able to access all of them at school.  I couldn't access Second Life at school so I will have a try at home on the weekend

The homepage was very quick to do and customize.  Unfortunately I couldn't choose my hometown. The closet town was Adelaide - 650Km away!!  A biy American looked up a few recipes and they were very American.

I looked up the book The Slap it was there and there was lots of information.  I think it would be useful for home and school.

#6 Google Maps

Very easy to use and a great to get information quickly on distances and what facilities are available.  I got directions from my place in Port Lincoln to a hotel that we have booked at Lakes Entrance, Victoria. 1,699 Km wow I didn't now it was that far!! Should have used Google Maps before I booked the trip!! Might have to fly some of the way. The photo of our house has been updated since the last time I looked at Google Maps so that was interesting.

I did a scrapbooking page very easy to use uploaded it and set viewing to private. Great for information sharing.  The templates were a great starting point.

#4 Web 2.0

After doing my readings I found  I had heard most of the terms/things discussed but didn't know some the exact definitions.  I guess this is one reason I am doing the course. It is interesting and I was confident with using the earlier platform of Web 1.0 when I was working before I had my children in the nineties  Upon my return to the workforce my children show me how to use my iphone etc and the change in the web in that relatively short time amazes me. The web was about publishing but now it is all about participation.  I am a user of things like ebay, itunes and facebook. It is interesting how these services automatically get better the more people use them.

First Post

Wow I have finally created my blog.  I have been wanting to do it for ages (even before I started the Web 2.0 course).  It took me a week to do it as I couldn't think of a name.  Luckily my 11 year old daughter was on hand to assist with the name!!
